**maybe a week since the previous meeting**

Marthinick would readily admit that he was a Dog. By the way the girl had reacted to his mention of Belle and her lack of question... Well... he did not have any definitive evidence. Maybe she was a loner.... But then, the direction she ran. It was not away from the beach per say but with a direction. Purpose. She did not leave in the direction of Kaura or even that of the Neutral lands... Had she gone back toward Caimath? Did she belong to Caimath? Maybe it was wrong of him to hope that she'd return.

He stopped. Maybe this was all wrong. If she was a loner... she'd have to become a part of Kaura because... he was an Alpha. This was not some simple fling. Or... was he taking all of this too seriously? He looked to the water, and ran in. Cold? like daggers. Angry? Furious. What the Hell was he doing here? Was he going really going to try to track her? W-well I thought

Damn, you studder in your thoughts. You must be so insecure.

"Shut!" He commanded as he ran into the tide, it so desperately wishing him to fall into the sand. He was breaking the pattern, breaking it's perfect and serene beauty. he needed to get out. He was going to freeze, as he had when he had walked home in lamed spirits.

Shut? You think body functions apply to your own mind? Man, you are really stupid

"Get it together, Marth!" Are you going to let every pretty face you run into catch your fancy? Always letting your loneliness lead the way, huh?

He dove his head underwater, not bothering to take a breathe as he simply let the water ran over his back as he squatted, ears back to keep the water from flooding in his ears. Gods, it was cold. ... But really. His paws upon the sand, his fur dancing and shimmering--ha, shimmering-- as he let the numb take hold of his body, the bare scars upon his fur feeling the sting a little more poignantly than the rest of him. Opening his eyes to the dark swirls of the water, he gently leaped from the sands, the urge to breathe beginning to dry his throat.

He could only take, and whatever he gave was feared, maybe even rejected. Not that he could pity himself. It must be true. and so, as his feet rose from the ocean to half-drown himself or to give him the cheapest kind of thrill, to remind him that even on the edge of a cliff, even the few moments just before he closes his eyes to rest, he had gotten himself there. But he could only take, he would tell himself. What started him was chance. Was the other possibility even true? Belle was the giver. Marthinick had to take. It was just the way of things.

Do you have it in you to take this white Fae's heart?

He hit a rock. He was not sure how much he had gone out to sea and the rock not only hit his rib cage, but knocked the air out of him. He struggled, disoriented. Well, at least he was brave enough to get here, right? Mouth opened at if to command the air back, but it had fled before his magic could catch it. Thus he paddled toward the light, just in time for his head to surface into a wave as he inhaled. His fur weighed him down, his hind legs threatened to anchor him down, as if he were trapped. Quickly he made the water solid under his feet, but it shifted, rocked back and forth like maggots under flesh. He paddled with his other free paw until both front legs resided upon the surface of the water, held only by his will to keep himself up as he coughed violently. A wave caught his back when he inhaled again, it's force pushing him forward and under, he tumbling. Ah, but he had a breathe, and he let his body twist in the dark and painful salt. All he needed were several cuts and for the water to turn to lemon juice.

When his paws touched the bottom, he bounded onward landing in more water and he tried to make it solid once again under his paws, making him roll across the water as it flowed under him and pushed him toward the shore, he coughing and inhaling desperately. And he tried to laugh, gagging and sputtering, making him laugh louder, until the water in his lungs and the salt in his eyes no longer could hold back his whole laughter. And he rose to his four legs and howled, trotting proudly across the surface of walls. Could he be conquered? Not even when he let himself go in the ocean! He was unbeatable! You're Insane. He laughed louder and gave one more howl before his lungs no longer understood what they were suppose to do, and took over by making him breathe in and out. Simple enough. "Ah... and you're... no fun! Ha.... ha."

Let's Start Over with Basics Empty Re: Let's Start Over with Basics

Post by Elite Taala Tue Jun 03, 2014 4:56 am

For seven nights she lost sleep And it was seven nights that she spent brooding. Her mind could not fathom why she was sleepless. Nor could she understand that brute Marthinick. Why had he not attacked her? He was the Alpha of Kaura, a Void Pentaelemental. Wasn't it in his nature to be destructive? It puzzled her to no end. Thoughts reeled through her mind on these sleepless nights in a futile attempt to understand... She didn't even know what it was she needed to understand.

On then seventh morning she had rolled over as the sun streamed into her little den. Just as she had every morning for the past week she had rejoiced in the rising of the sun and forced herself to leave the den and run. It had become a habit of hers. When things became difficult or incomprehensible, she would run until her limbs refused to take her any further. The exercise helped to numb her mind and give her a few hours respite. But she was exhausted. She was desperate for just an hour's sleep.

She ran and ran, but rather than tracing the same path around the border she found herself back on the beach. Its rocky reaches and sandy shores. Retsehcnam Bay and drawn her once more. Why here? She asked herself. What could returning here possibly bring me? Dazed and weary, she wandered over to the rocks where she had met the charming, funny, idiotic brute. She leapt into their stony arms and lay in their rough embrace, seeking reprieve for even a few moments. The overcast sky above foretelling of rain or snow, but which it was she couldn't be certain.

Just as her mind began to drift and just maybe sleep would take her, a short, sickened howl cut through the salty air. Ears swivelled and head perked to find the noise. It couldn't be... and yet... There! The imperfect coat of off-white and lighter browns could be seen some distance off. Having staggered from the heaving waters he coughed and sputtered and dragged himself further ashore. She almost worried for his condition, until she remembered he was a he and not of her pack.

"No wolf is beneath our aid, daughter, never forget that.

The words of her mother rooted about in her mind. It was true. Every wolf in need deserved her help. She leapt straight from her rock and trotted over to the male. The biting sea wind reigniting her chill. Swimming in the ocean last time had not done her much good. Perhaps she was catching some illness that was abetting her sleepless nights. Still, she pushed past it and approached the male with caution. When she was close enough, she allowed her voice to be heard. "Are you ok there?"

Let's Start Over with Basics Empty Re: Let's Start Over with Basics

It was the moment he inhaled and tasted the female's scent that his coughing worsened. He could not even crane his neck to see her, so he focused on coughing, the smile thick on his face. As she approach, he almost wanted to put out a paw to keep her at bay, but she seemed to stay away on her own, tettering between within earshot and lunging distance. Ugh, the rules of space and conformity. Could there not be regulation in a pack with no laws? Wolves would come up with laws, and others would not. Some would abide by them, others not. Hm. Maybe laws were a good thing then. But the little things, then! Being too close or too far, being truthful and saying something true! They were not the same.

Why Yes, I am fine. In fact, I am enjoying this bit of water in my lungs She cleared his throat, the salt making it dry such that his words were a mere wheeze of what they used to be. "No, but thanks for asking." he sat down--pardon, he laid down, panting... almost. "What about you? Are you okay?"

He wanted to touch her mind, to invade her thoughts a moment to see why she was here, for it was mere LUCK that they had stumbled upon each other today, or any other day, or even the other day. This day, this hour, this moment. She was here, and even with a lack of vocal cord he felt somewhat more whole than usual, but he doubted she would feel that way... his void probably made her feel empty. He hoped not. He looked down, eyes diverted from her and onto the water. "The...uh... the tide. It's strong today." he chuckled, wheezing like an old dog. "I-uh Don't recommend swimming today. At all." This is small talk, right?

He quickly interrupted himself, "So," He cleared his throat, some of his voice returning, "What brings you here?"

Let's Start Over with Basics Empty Re: Let's Start Over with Basics

Post by Elite Taala Sun Jul 13, 2014 7:16 am

The males voice was rife with sarcasm at first, which made her cock her head and want to bite back, easily as snarky. But then he queried with what appeared to be true concern. Not wishing to give too much away she shrugged her little shoulders. "As well as I can be with a few sleepless nights." Was her casual response. To any other it might seem a basic level explanation for the yawn that followed her words. But in her subconscious it was a many layered statement. Wishing him to think and ponder, begging him to ask the question. Why have you been sleepless?

She turned her gaze out to the rough seas. The overcast sky adding an ominous feel to the day. The great clouds above were pregnant with water, though what form it took she could not say. Why was it their meetings seemed to bring such dreary weather? Was it a sign from the gods? Or the Cultivator, they seemed to worship in these parts? But if it was, what kind of sign was it?

As she watched the dark ocean rise up and pull back over and over, the male told her that it WS a rough tide. She was not stupid, even she - who had lived nowhere near the ocean - could tell it was not swimming weather. Spooking closer she saw the ocean had a gap, where the water appeared far calmer. Why would he not enter there? The thought was of no consequence. What was done was done. And she had a question to answer. "Well, as I did say, I have not slept well this past week. Not slept at all really. I came here searching for some peace and quiet. I had hoped the run would exhaust me enough to make me sleep. It seems it has not worked."
