Her first thought for the day, as it always was, was to remember her fallen pack. The Delta rose early, or at least she assumed it was early since she normally rose before the dawn. In any case, she awoke beside her Alphess' sleeping form, still weary from the previous days travels. She would allow herself no rest until her tasks were complete. This day she needed to find her own den. It was unfitting that a Delta spend her nights in the hostel of her great Leader. A Leader required her own quarters where she might retreat for a few moments solace. The White Knight also needed her own place of retreat, but in this Nottingham Glade there were so many options, she was unsure where to begin.

She stretched the kinks from her stiff muscles, shaking out her snowy fur and made her way through the labyrinth of caves to return to the beaches. Salty air blasted into her face and stormed her nostrils when she reached the surface. Her eyes screwed shut as she inhaled the still odd scent. She wasn't entirely used to living on the coast, having come from so far inland. She walked her way across the sand to the softly rolling waves. The sound of the water washing against the already wet sand, only to retreat back into the depths of the larger body was soothing. White froth slid over her paws, nearly indistinguishable from her fur. She dipped her head and lapped at the blue-green sea, gagging at its saltiness. She jumped back and attempted to shake the taste from her maw. Indeed her mother might never have seen any need to discuss the different bodies of water. Todays lesson was just that, and she had learned well.

The Delta stepped further away from the icy grip of the sea and gazed up at the ancient shipwreck. It was still proud and majestic, as Belle had said it once was, only now it held the character and charm that came with age. In its youth it might have been a beautiful ship, the best of its kind. There was no need for play now, not that she'd ever had much of a mind for play. From the age of six months she had worked at becoming the next Alphess. And so, for the second time that day, she mourned the still recent loss of her pack. Sighing, she turned from the old wreck to look towards the cliffs. Might she find some morsel or meal there? Her own den? Or some other adventure?

Trust is earned, not given (Benji) Empty Re: Trust is earned, not given (Benji)

Steering clear of the Alphess was not hard, passing by her in one direction as she went the other was his specialty. Avoidence of Belle. Yet, now, he was aware of someone else in the camp and it was no longer just the two of them. It bothered it slightly but there was nothing he could do, as his sister reigned he knew that the time was coming that other's soon too would be joining. Rolling his eyes he wandered toward the beach, where he saw a white creature standing there as the waves lapped to the shore. It was a funny sight, watching her become bitter to the water at it's first taste. In his mind, it was common sense not to drink the ocean's water, but the water from the streams up north. Tempted to say something from the brush behind her, he stood there on the other side of the ship, the woods protecting him and his dark figure.

Suddenly, she gazed towards him, and he was unaware as if she could see him or not. In this moment, Benji came forth from the fir and approached her. Head low to the ground and ears turned back he slowly crept towards her. A soft growl came from his throat as he now stood a yard away, "You're not supposed to drink the water from the ocean. I suppose you've learned this already. You're the new one, Belle's new toy. Caimath's new Delta, no?" The words were harsh upon his rough voice, there was a way he spoke that just sounded cruel and evil, and he enjoyed it. Enjoyed how it made others quiver in fear, made other's drop to their bellies, but with the Delta there was no reason for respect. In his eyes, he was above her, despite if he was powerless or not. Benji was blood to the Alphess, there was no way he would bow down to a stranger in his home. It had just been Belle and Benji, for a long time now, the sudden change had bothered him. Benji was being replaced in the heart of his sister.

Lips curled barring his teeth the the Delta, each roll of skin folded into thee next as the mixture of black and grey fur revealed the dark nearly purple gum line, yellow teeth stood jagged and crossed as he parted his mouth ready to strike. Although he wasn't trying to fight her, he felt he needed to prove to her where she stood, and to see if she was a bitch like his sister. Sometimes, Benji thought it could just be him, that this place was doing it too him, that he didn't belong. If only he could piss her off, force her to run to Belle. Maybe then, and only then, would Belle finally put her foot down. Maybe then, he could leave.

Trust is earned, not given (Benji) Empty Re: Trust is earned, not given (Benji)

Taala started slightly as the growl penetrated her thoughts. She had lost herself to the depths of her mind, contemplating numerous things. It was a peculiar saying, train of thought. Why train? Perhaps because trains travel from one stop to the next, each different to the one before but still linked by the tracks in between. Her own train this morning had been an interesting one. The cliffs had made her think of height and what it might feel like to fall from them. Falling lead to flying. Flying lead to the intricacies of wings, leading to feathers. Feathers lead to tickling. Tickling lead to her mothers nuzzling of her tummy when she was very young. This lead to thoughts of how few pups there had been in her pack. Their numbers grew mostly from border recruits. Interestingly enough most of their recruits were pregnant females, their brood the product of rape and sometimes incest. But the pups rarely survived the ordeal, so each one that survived was indeed a blessing.

It was this that ran through her mind when the malevolent growl came after her. Her eyes refocused into the now to see a dark figure emerging from the wreck and stalking her.Sniff sniff. Male, blood of the Alphess. It could only be Benji. Her hackles raised immediately to the scent of male. Her scars still fresh in a sense, her distrust of the gender as strong as ever. His words were cruel and condescending and she rose to meet them. "I am no toy. I am Delta Taala of Caimath. Previously Alphess Taala of Yullin. I serve faithfully under Alphess Belle." She could see the anger seething beneath the surface, the discomfort in his eyes. To him she was an intruder in his land, not worthy of any position, not even a lowly Omega.

She reacted instantly to his dominant threat, curling her tail high over her back. Her muzzle crinckled and shifted to reveal pearly canines, yet untainted by blood this day. She had no intention of harming the blood of the Alphess, but she would defend herself if it was required. It would not do to be fighting with pack members on her third day. Through her parted lips slipped a growl of warning. The White Knight drew herself up to her full height and glared at Benji. She was still shorter than the dark male, but with the fluffing of her fur, her slight body appeared more heavyset. "You forget yourself, Benji. I am the Delta here and whilst it is by no means the highest rank, I still hold superiority over you. You would do well to remember your place." She clacked her teeth together to punctuate her point.

"Stand down Bitch. You may think you are well enough on your own to take me down, you will try, but you will fail." A vicious snarl came from his throat, his jaws clenched shut as the teeth collided with one another after he snapped at her. Eyes burned at her as she tried to hold her rank over him, Benji wanted to laugh more than fight, as she thought she was above him. She was nothing to him and he would prove it. The hair on his shoulders and neck stood on edge as he walked closer to her, this time coming into focus with the white female. It was then he sat down, there would be no fight, but he would destroy her. One of the would be leaving and he hoped it would be her.

"If you're no toy, then why is an Alphess serving beneath another Alphess? If you are as great a leader as you think you were, would you not challenge Belle for her spot, her rank. No... you serve faithfully, why, because of fear. It is the fear of being a coward that holds you back from your rank. Tell me Delta, does that rank that she beholds to you, the thrown she places upon your back. Is it worth it to serve someone who knows everything about you, who will constantly put faith in you and when you turn your back on her she will exile you." Benji chuckled before continuing, "I bet you that bitch told you that our pack left us, for tradition. What you fail to realize is, Belle is selfish, she will only keep you around for so long before she tosses you aside. Forgets about you. Forces you to leave, thinking it was all your idea. She warps you and you want to serve her. You're a stupid mutt if you believe a single word she says. She is just a dog." Benji's voice didn't change, the monotonus ring that came from his sound was annoying to other's but he pressed on.

"Oh wise, Delta Taala, I see you share her quarters, I see you around. But, what I don't see is you actually wearing that rank like you're supposed too. My sister freely hands out ranks to nobodies. You are not above me, you are beneath me, and you forever will. I am blood, blood is thicker than water." The dark male then stood and began to walk towards the female, but only walked past her turning his back on the female.

She continued her rolling growl the longer he spoke. He used the technical term for her gender, but she just knew he meant it in the far ruder sense. It angered her to no end to see the arrogance of the male. It only solidified in her mind that all males were ignorant, arrogant fools. She held herself with strength, chin parallel to the sand even when he snapped his jaws in her face. She did not flinch, nor did she even blink. She stood there and waited for the idiot to cease his incessant yapping. Her eyes narrowed as he sat. She refused to allow herself to lose focus, s she remained upright and rigid.

The child began to speak again. He questioned her ability to lead, though not quite so directly. Oh if only the whelp knew. She swore herself into the service of the Alphess. It was her choice as an Alphess to merge her pack with a neighbouring one. A business deal as it were, to ensure the survival of her pack line. Taala would not go back on her word. It wasn't in her to commit such an act of treason. She was a wolf of her wolves. She listened to the people and acted in their best interests. She trained hard because they needed a capable Alphess. She accepted the position because they wanted her. She ran from the battle because they told her to live. They sacrificed themselves to help her escape. If she repaid all of that faith with her own stupidity, her own death, who would remember them? Who would mourn for the heroes?

He questioned so much about her mentality, her ability to lead, her active service. Was she doing her duty? She was doing as Belle directed her, day by day. Of course she was following her duty. The cretin was trying to sow doubt in her mind with that off-putting, monotonous voice of his. He stood and walked towards her. Azure eyes traced his every movement. Slow and fluid though they were, there was every chance he could shift into an attack with barely any notice. But instead his head turned and he passed by. Before he was entirely gone, she finally spoke. "You know nothing, Benji."

Trust is earned, not given (Benji) Empty Re: Trust is earned, not given (Benji)

The male was just past her when he heard her speak, from behind him she stood there her back facing him and he snarled as he spun rather quickly to face her. Attacking her was not an option, knowing full well that his sister would soon be on her way. It was what she did, she knew things that he didn't, saw something in everyone and it disgusted him. Without hesitation Benji snapped out from behind his lips, "You filthy Bitch, I will get you alone, and I will make you my dog." The male's body stood on edge, every strand of hair stuck out like he had been struck by lightning and he took one step forward.

"You think, you, of all people wont be replaced? Trust held so cautiously in your paws after a mere days in the pack. A rank not earned but given, on what basis, a premonition? It's stupidity on your half for putting your trust in her, for believing her and falling so fast for her tricks. That is on you and it's pity that I feel for you. Now run along mutt, with you tail between your legs, or do you dare to challenge me on strength alone because I don't trust you not to cheat and use your magic. Either way Bitch, I will eat you and you will scream my name as your life drips away like the pathetic element that resides inside of you." The male was now furious, every word he spoke caused him to elevated in his attitude, which only want him to destroy the unfit Delta.

Trust is earned, not given (Benji) Empty Re: Trust is earned, not given (Benji)

Post by Alphess Belle Mon May 26, 2014 2:17 am

"Enough!" The Alphess's voice came from nowhere and all too suddenly. Booming loudly over her brother's threats as she casually walked into the scene, hearing every word that Benji had spoken. Each threat registered in her mind and she looked at her Delta, with a mixture of fear and pride. It was sickening as she threaded carefully upon her brother whose fuse was now nearly lit. Yet, with a gentle swish of her jaw she removed his power of speech. Leaving him to his mind as she faced him, her nose practically touching his, hot breath lapped at the air and she snarled. The vicious sound was a warning that this situtation was over and she would explain why.

"How dare you challenge me! My laws and my judgement!" The voice still stern and nasty but the edge was receding, as she began to calm herself. Knowing what needed to be done. "Benji, I hear by exile you from the lands of Caimath. Banished to roam Albion alone and miserable. Should Kaura decide to take you in, I pity their decision. You are noticeably the worst sibling, pack mate, and citizen her in Albion. Shame on myself for thinking that there was ever a chance you would survive here beside me when I should have cast you out with the rest of them. You chose to stay, there was once greatness inside, and now it lies wasted in ruins in the pit of your stomach. Your misery will consume you Benji and you will die alone, that I am sure of. There will be redemption I see but your stupidity will cast it aside and you will be tricked by the hands of the demons you seek to find. Leave now Brother or your blood will run through my toes." With that Belle began her silent walk back, calling Taala to her side, forcing Benji to stand there under her own will so that he shall not decide to harm her Delta. Quietly the two made way back to the pits of the Alphess's den peacefully standing on the other side of a protection spell.

Turning her face sternly to the Delta she spoke her final words, allowing Benji to leave. "You are not in the wrong, I have seen my brothers true colors. My precious Delta, do not fear, you are on your way to greatness." A concerning look fell upon her brow, the pain of casting out her brother, and the fear that her Delta would believe a word of her psychopathic brother. "In a few moments, the wall between us and the beach will be down. My brother will be gone and you will be free to leave." It was a statement so freely spoken, giving the Delta a chance to stay in Caimath or to walk away without any repercussions. The Alphess made her way back into her quarters, alone.
